September 17, 2011

One of the premium displays at the 2011 Match will be provided by the "The Pioneer Gathering", a group that helps to keep Canadian history alive by re-enacting various aspects of pioneer life in Canada.

The display will consist of four "camps".

1. Charles Chapman, a long rifleman from the 1790's with his Frontier survival tools.

2. Ruby Black will be demonstrating spinning from 1850's.

3. Kathryn Michaud and Peter Bourdreau will be serving up Frontier Camp Bannock as it was done in 1760.

4. Brid Michaud (Lady Hawk), Tim Lavigne and Mike Proctor will be demonstrating tomahawk and knife throwing skills from the 1700's.

Spectators will find the camps both interesting and educational.  Not to be missed!!
